When you say “under dashboard it shows 14 subscribers” do you mean users with the level Subscriber in the Users section of your blog’s Dashboard?

If so, they aren’t really subscribers, they’re just users who can’t do anything. You would need a plugin that ties into this user role to treat them as email subscribers, but it sounds like the plugin you’re using does not do that, so it would have its own subscription system that they need to sign up for.

I am using the JetPack Subscription Plugin. It says that it sends out email notification when a new post is posted. Do I need to do something?

I see, I went under the jetpack menu and found the subscribed users that would be receiving emails.

Curious, the users under the WordPress dashboard, where do those users register from? Because when I subscribed through the Jetpack it does not show up on the user panel.

There is a registration link on your blog’s login form if you have enabled user registration at Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard.

If you have no use subscribers registered directly with your site (which Jetpack does not use), I recommend disabling registrations and removing those users.
