Hello, I’m having issues uploading subtitles. I was told to upload videos and subtitle files separately. I purchased a tool to generate subtitles and it can save as both vtt or srt. However, neither of the files are working for me and able to upload to web stories. A message is coming up saying I can only upload audio files for mp3, m3a, aac, wav, oga or ogg — is that correct for subtitles? Or would I upload elsewhere?

Further, do I need to create separate video slides and caption slides for EACH page of the web story? Or am I able to upload all at once? (Uploading all at once would be an incredible feature as most people create content that way). Thank you.

Is there a way to upload an entire 40 second long video and separate to pages? I can’t figure out how to get a video to work like this for web stories. Thank you.

    Thanks for reaching out!

The message sounds like you might be trying to upload the captions in a different place.

When you are adding a new video to a story, there will be a section called “Caption and Subtitles” where you can upload your VTT file or choose an existing one from your library.

As for uploading all at once — you can definitely upload all your videos and captions at once to the media library and then later in the story editor just choose the files from the library.

Unfortunately not yet, but it’s something we would love to support in the future! We agree that it would really help speed up content creation.

Hi, thank you so much for this! I got the subtitles uploaded in the right place. As for creating multiple slides with videos & subtitles, are you saying the best way is to upload segments? So upload (for example), 3 videos that are 10 seconds long to place on each slide? For the subtitles, do you have to split them into segments to match the stories or can you upload those all at once?

Thank you so much. (And yes, would love to request a “trim” feature for the future).

@lifeinjordosworld That is correct, you have to split your video into segments and split the captions to match the video segments.
