So you are suggesting I replace all instances of “Taxonomy” with “Category” as well as the plural variations?

The issue with that is that “Category” is a type of taxonomy, that WordPress creates for you. “Tag” is a taxonomy as well, and since WordPress 3.0, WordPress core has made it easy for users to create their own taxonomies, and our plugin provides a UI to facilitate that.

I know WordPress core is also working towards separating out its legacy of shared terms, but it’s not completed quite yet.

The thing is, “taxonomy” isn’t necessary, and it just confuses things (at least to me). “Category” and “tag” refer to something actual in WP, “taxonomy” is a metaterm and doesn’t need to be incorporated into a plugin.

Look up the plugin, “Add Category to Page” to see how the author handles it.

While I appreciate the feedback and thoughts, I don’t see myself changing this aspect of things.
