• Neat idea, but disabling scripts and styles per page basis can be tedious, especially if you have a long list of styles and scripts (try running a buddypress and woocommerce based site).

I would suggest a URL based approach like Plugin Organizer.

Also, there should be a select all checkbox and maybe a global disable.

Thank you for your hard work on this.

    Hello Brian,

Plugin Organizer is a plugin I’m using on my website and I would recommend it. However, it has its limitations. For instance, you can either enable or disable a plugin per page. As an example, in a page, a plugin or the theme could load up to 12 assets, but you only need 3 of them. The rest can be unloaded using “WP Asset Clean Up”.

A global disable will be added as a feature to the plugin as it’s very requested. I’ve just released the plugin, so one step at a time. Thank you for your feedback!

    Regards,
    Gabe

    Hi Gabe,

I just came across this plugin recently. It looks great and is getting a lot of great exposure as well. Congrats!

I saw that its a work in progress, but I would also like to upvote a Global Settings page to turn styles on or off. I would say the first approach is one global setting for the whole site. Then in the next phase I would include settings for each custom post type.

That would take this plugin from good to amazing in my opinion πŸ™‚

Nothing against it though, it works great. Thank you for it.

Thank you for your feedback, Aussng (don’t know your actual name)!

A global settings page is the most demanded feature so far and it will be added very soon to the plugin. Some people have thousands of posts and it’s painful to update them one by one (you can make mistakes during the process).

After this plugin will be improved, I’m considering releasing a premium version in the next months. In your opinion, what would you think a commercial version should have on top of the existing features?

Update: The global disabling of assets is now implemented.

    Hi @gabelivan

Let me see if I understood it right. Do you recommend using your plugin together with Plugin Organizer ?

@stagger-lee Yes, Plugin Organizer prevents the whole plugin from loading which also includes the assets. However, there are instances when you need a plugin on a page, but that plugin loads 5 assets and you need only 2 of them. That’s when my “WP Asset Clean Up” comes into place. Note that you have to be careful when using both to not unload the wrong things so if you’re not a DEV or not sure what you’re doing. Hope it makes sense.

Ok, thanks. Sorry for offtopic, dont want to clutter support if I dont have real problems with plugin.

I like your plugin detects files added in theme header, or with my custom functions.php plugin. Plugin Organizer cannot do it. And of course options loading under post/page on front. Think it is brilliant.

As I see it you dont need much to add to completely make PO replace. “Post types” options, one admin submenu link with list of custom links, to be able to override it for categories/terms globally (or maybe not, I see options are there when visiting taxonomy link). Some other “small” things, etc…

And of course one very important thing, when talking about replacing PO, load scripts in backend. Many times it is needed for conflicts troubleshooting.

But OK, for some future when you have time. For now it is good to know they can be used together, so it is really not so much of problem.

@stagger-lee – Thank you for the feedback. The next feature will be global disable for specific post types. For instance, you might have pages with the URI containing /product/ like in WooCommerce and you want to globally unload assets for that custom post type only.
