Hello,
I made some tests, comparing the results of your plugin to another well known search plugin: Relevanssi.

Fist, you can see that Relevanssi gives to title more importance – and it sounds logic to me.
Second, Relevanssi shows an excerpt with the searched term so it’s more easy to analyse the results. Maybe you can look at this very old plugin http://scott.yang.id.au/code/search-excerpt/ what gives good results.
And last, but I think it’s not possible with Gsearch, Relevanssi gives priority to recent posts so the results are more relevant.

Well, the point where GSearch is the best is in speed 🙂

Thanks for the review. Indeed gSearch doesn’t give priority to recent posts neither to title. Both can be included easily in a next release.

As per the excerpt issue, gSearch was designed to be less intrusive than other search plugins. This means, no extra tables in WordPress database, no direct SQL queries, no changes in search.php template. Also, the idea was to make a simple and easy to use plugin. All code respects WordPress APIs and standard installation. I’ll have a look into the plugin’s code to see if the excerpt suggestion can be implemented without creating a mess.

And of course, simplicity has a prize…Speed!!

I find your plugin’s philosophy very interesting – speed is a good think. But relevancy is the key 🙂 I’m very curious to see if the plugin will improve.

Made a comparison with Relevanssi, see here: http://www.echodesplugins.li-an.fr/plugins/gsearch-plus/

Search Relevance is another plugin of the same type and it seems it gives better relevance – but I don’t know how it works.

Thanks for all the nice feedback. I’ve detected some issues on the previous version which are now corrected on version 1.2.0.
