Logged in this morning for daily maintenance and the super admin menu is missing for the super admin account. This site has been online for almost 2 years without this problem. The only change is the PHP installation on the server was upgraded to 5.3.

Something else must have happened. If the constant is set, the menu is added. No constant, no menu.

Check wp-config for any changes.

Found the issue. I had been required to change usernames and missed the superadmin entry in the sites meta table.

I’m having the same problem, but I’m not sure what I’m looking for in the site meta table to make a user the super admin. Can someone please tell me which meta_key should have what meta_value to make this work? I’m getting desperate here.
