we created a temporary user in one of our sites so they can have admin access to solve a technical issue. the user does not appear on the site but does appear in our network user roster with the title super admin. please advise on best practice in this situation.

  • Unless this user needs to be a superadmin, I’d make him a contributor or less in the network and then add him to the site or sites he needs to be an admin at and raise his role in just those sites.

Double-check from the network dashboard just to make sure you didn’t raise his role back to super admin.

If you have a non-super admin for the sites he needs to be in then use that account to add him if possible. Always double-check unless he is to be ‘trusted’ site-wide anyway.

this temp admin would be working on a network activated plugin. does this change anything in your remarks above ?

assuming the obvious, this is a network task.
