By using the shortcode class selector and styling it in CSS. Can’t remember the class offhand, but the CSS would look something like:
font-size: xx-small;
vertical-align: top;
Using the tags is probably more sturdy, though.
Just a thought Katie. When editing a post with the Zotero Reference widget in the back end – we can select ‘in-text’ and then click to expand options. Under options you have drop-dons for most of the options. Would it be possible to have dropdown for the ‘format’ option too? If so could %num% be included as an option?
Thanks

I’ll add it to the list π

A follow-on thought then.
I imagine many of those options wouldn’t change from post to post. We would use %num% throughout the site for ever more. So maybe prefered styles could be set as defaults on the Zotpress Options page – the same page we select citation style.
What do you think?

Yes, I’m thinking of creating a new shortcode and/or option to set a default format.
That would be useful. May link to this? Visual Composer has become very popular and allows users to drop shortcodes into their shortcode mapper. The shortcode is then available in the VC content elements menu. The shortcode parameters can also be mapped and made available on the VC front end for easy selection.
