We do have a specific setting to show or hide comments on events pages if that’s what you need to accomplish.
You will find it in Events->Settings->General, under the label “Show comments”

The Disable Comments plugin disables all comment functionality,
but The Events Calender plugin still shows a comments column in the events post list.
