    Hello Blocksy Team,

I just tried your theme, it is really a blast to use.

But there is a one thing that is keeping me from using it.

Do you have any plans to support CSS variables?

To explain, I have my own CSS framework.

A part of this framework are CSS variables for fonts and colors (e.g. var(–primary, var(–secondary), etc..)

I wanted to use those variables inside a Theme customizer, for example to set a color for header row. Or a color for menu items. Inputing variables is not possible at the moment.

The same applies to inputing CSS variables for font settings. So for example if I wanted to use my CSS Framework fluid typography, I couldn’t do it in your theme because I can not set CSS variable var(–h2) for a H2 element.

I was a bit surprised because GeneratePress offers this functionality where we can add our own CSS variables.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

  • Hi @tomanuel

I’d like to clear things up with you on this one. Can you please clear up on how you’d envision this to work like?

Do you want to input custom CSS variables throughout our Customiser? Such as for colours and so on – https://ibb.co/wKxvgqj? Or do you think of something else here?

    Thank you.

Yes, that’s exactly what I am trying to do.

    Hi @tomanuel

I understand. Sadly, the feature is currently only available for font sizes – https://ibb.co/XsP0Z2M

I’ve noted down the request for a future release and will have the developers analyse it thoroughly to see if it can be implemented easily.

Keep an eye out for updates, as we are constantly pushing out new features and improvements.

    Thanks!

Thank you @cteduard for a quick response!

Well I guess since this is available for font sizes, it can be easily enabled for colors. And also for spacing! (Padding, Margin, etc..).

Thanks for taking this into consideration.

I will wait and hope for this to be implemented.

More experienced devs would love this feature in your theme.

    With pleasure, @tomanuel! 🤝
