It is not possible at this time, but I will investiate the possibility of adding support for this type of link in a bit. I am currently travelling for next week, then will be able to start investigating next week-end.
Sounds great! I look forward to seeing if you are able to come up with a solution to this.
Actually, I just realized that it is already possible to configure Link Library to accept the file:// protocol. Just go to the General Settings tab and look for the field called Additional Protocols. Set the value of this field to file and save options. You should be all set.
I have implemented so much stuff in this plugin that I sometimes forget everything it can do.
Please let me know if this works for you and consider donating to support this plugin’s development.
This works for text, word and excel files, but it doesn’t appear to work for exe or msi packages that I have built on our server. Thoughts on that?
EDIT:
Opps, disregard… I found a typo in the file paths I was testing. It is working now also for my exe and msi packages as well. 🙂
Hmm… strange that it would work for some things but not others. Have you tried in different browsers to see if it might just be a security measure in some of them?

Awesome. Glad it was a small detail like this. Please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.
