Hello!
I recently addressed this common query in our KB. Check it out in the link below 🙂

Thanks @cybr for sharing that link. The reason I asked is because in Google search results my secondary language home page shows as “Meta Title – Mysite”
However in the settings I have it to show as “Mysite | Meta Title“. So I am not sure why Google has not used what we specified. Is that normal?

Hi again!
Sorry for my belated reply.
Yes, unfortunately, that’s normal. Google can sometimes overwrite the title if they think it helps their search engine user. I’m starting to see a pattern where they prefer consistent placement of the site name (i.e., on the right), but that’s just my speculation.
From https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624#page-titles:
If we’ve detected that a particular result has one of the above issues with its title, we may try to generate an improved title from anchors, on-page text, or other sources. However, sometimes even pages with well-formulated, concise, descriptive titles will end up with different titles in our search results to better indicate their relevance to the query.

Great thanks for your thoughts @cybr
Yes well not a big issue. We’ll just let google do its thing 🙂
