Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the plugin’s updates.
Please note, though, that you’re leaving a review for the Lite version of the plugin, and you are obviously using the Full version. Support for the full version, and comments about the full version are not appropriate, so ww.wp.xz.cn moderators may remove the review due to this. We cannot remove anything, nor do we wish to hide negative feedback, but just a friendly note that this may happen.
Issues with updating Envato-based licenses are caused by the Envato’s API, which is limited to 3 requests per second. If there are many requests, it can fail. If you have an Envato license, all you need to do is click on “Activate with Envato” button in wpDataTables settings/Activation, and the plugin will be activated. Due to the limitation of their API, you may need to do this a few times before the license is actually activated.
There are thousands of users who update the plugin through WordPress’ Plugins page (we also do it on our local installations, without any issues), so if you have the license active, you should be able to update the plugin through the Plugins page, or ultimately through Dashboard/Updates.
If your WordPress installation is giving you issues with that, please feel free to open a pre-purchase ticket on our official support platform, and our support managers will gladly inspect your website, and debug the plugin to see why you’re not able to upgrade through the Plugins section.
