    Hello,

I just discovered that my manager seems to have started the website with the premium version of the plugin. However, it seems to me that after the free trial she did not extend the premium version. As such we did not receive any updates etc. since then, but kept on using the features that were available in the Yoast SEO Premium without paying.
We are currently on version 12.4. of the Yoast SEO Premium. I just discovered that this led to some issues with another plugin, that’s the only reason I discovered this mess.

The point is, I in a try to fix this, I wanted to just download the Yoast SEO for free, but don’t know if it will cause any issues if I activate the free version and deactivate & deinstall the Premium version. Will there be any loss of data or impact in our website? Or will this be a smooth deactivate-the-one-activate-the-other kind of process?

I would be immensely grateful, if anybody could help me!!

    Thank you so much already.

    Best regards,
    Sebastian

    Hello @sgro7,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, it is possible to switch from the Yoast SEO Premium to the Yoast SEO Free. It will not cause any issues, impact on the website or any loss of data. Existing SEO settings/data are stored in the database. However, you will no longer have access to all the features that are peculiar to the Premium.

    Thanks.

    Hello @maybellyne,

thank you so much for your quick response!
So the process would be just deactivating Yoast SEO Premium, then activating Yoast SEO correct?

I am currently trying to convince my manager to extend premium as I have grown fond of its features anyways. Hope for the best 🙂

Thank you again and have a great afternoon!
    Best regards,
    Sebastian
