    Hi there!

Thanks for contacting AddThis Support 🙂

The sad news is that as soon as you change your URL, permalink or add an SSL certificate to your site, your share counts reset.

The reason for this is because of the way social networks track these counts – they’re tracking them against a specific URL and currently, there’s no way for these social services API’s to have you tell them “this old URL is now this new URL and you should add the share counts to this new one instead.”

Apologies for the inconvenience but this is how these social networks handle share counts and there’s not much we can do unless you revert back to the original URL.

We’re actually currently researching on a workaround to this problem so stay tune!

    Thanks,
    Leland

    Hi Leland,

Thanks for getting back to me.

AddThis suggested a solution here (link below) but all the steps are not included:
    http://www.addthis.com/academy/http-https-share-counts-affected/

Any ideas how I can add this code for my inline share buttons?

Also, the second link in my post (link below) offered a solution, but I wasn’t able to implement it as all the steps were not outlined. It shows how to do it with Addthis for a Text Widget, but not for inline AddThis share buttons.

Let me know what you think. Thanks
