• Hi WordPress volunteer members, your input on this much appreciated.

I’ve switched from HTTP to HTTPS to optimize my site for SEO.

I did this by changing the general settings in WordPress for both site address URL and WordPress Adress URL to HTTPS.

It seems to have worked BUT if I type in the URL with HTTP it will not redirect to HTTPS until I click to a new page or refresh the current page.

Essentially HTTP & HTTPS protocols works apart and return the same page content.

How do I solve this so that http will redirect automatically to HTTPS?

Is it a caching problem? Do I need to set up a server 301 Http redirect? Somehow delete the HTTP registration in Google Search Console?

    Advice much appreciated. Thanks!
