• PHP/Javascript Issues
I have noticed that the Theme editor has stopped letting us edit/update.
    APeearance>Theme editor>Footerphp
I simply wanted to update the year from 2019 to 2020 at the bottom of Theme footer at the very bottom (not the page footer)
    however, now.

    It gives me the following error;
“Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.”

I cleared cache 5 times, tried 2 days in a low, but nothing worked.
This error had not happened for 4years, until 2019.
I suspect some PHP error has occurred in the Sydney theme.

Please advice,- any solution or replaceable code etc.
Or might be Sydney’s critical error and require another update?
I have the latest Sydney theme updated recently.

  • Hello, can you please provide a link to your website in order to let me check it?

You can use some link shortener if you don’t want to leave the link to your site in this topic.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Hi, Thanks for your reply.

The website that has an issue is not live yet. The site is currently staging copy of the website (which has no issue)
You will not see any issue on the website as the issue back ends theme PHP.
The issue is identified on staging wite(copy of the leading site),

The error “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.”
occurs when I edit theme footer(PHP) of the staging site (which is not currently online)

I have received the following reply from Webhost.
That kind of problems are outside the scope of our support and requires the specialized intervention of a WordPress developer or the developers of the theme itself.
Unfortunately, there are issues which do fall beyond our scope of support and sometimes there isn’t any other option, but to contact a professional developer.

If you could advise me what does “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.” mean
and what the issue is, and how to solve it or this could be Sydney theme coding conflict, that would be great.

    Hello,

I simply wanted to update the year from 2019 to 2020 at the bottom of Theme footer at the very bottom (not the page footer)

Did you try to edit the footer.php file directly, through cPanel, for example?

By the way, you might want to check this link:

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    >Yes this is exactly what I have tried and it doesn’rt work.

By the way, you might want to check this link:

This is not the solution as the issue is NOt PHP code contents the issue is theme footer doesn’t update. by giving me the warning: “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.”

Could you kindly answer my question first?

Rather than jumping on to various solutions under the assumption?

So that I can see better idea what exactly going on with the bug surrounding the Sydney theme.

Look forward to hearing from you.

It looks like some plugin incompatibility, you can try to deactivate all your plugins except Elementor and see if it helps.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

Sorry but all tested already and this is not the issue,
    >>>see below;
it seems it is related to the theme that you are currently using. I tried testing the site with all plugins disabled but it had the same issue. That kind of problems are outside the scope of our support and requires the specialized intervention of a WordPress developer or the developers of the theme itself.
    As I said,

I am more than happy to hear from someone else, it it helps. I cannot waste my time.

Okay, I have just tried to recreate your issue on my local Sydney theme install (with WordPress and Sydney theme updated).

However, I was able to edit and save the footer.php file in Appearance → Theme Editor section without any problems. So your issue seems to be site-specific.

I also asked our developer to check your issue, let’s see what he says.

    Kind Regards, Roman.

    Thanks!
I look forward to hearing from them.

    Regarding this:
However, I was able to edit and save the footer.php file in Appearance → Theme Editor section without any problems. So your issue seems to be site-specific.

As I said several times, this is not about the main site this is about offline one.
So I know what you have tried works, my issue is separate from this.

And I do need to know: What “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again.” means, exactly.
It is strange, I looked around searching for answers but – nobody seems to have an exact answer to this.
