    Hi,

I looked for an answer but am having the same issue as this post: “Sync with Square” option with CSV import & Bulk Edit | ww.wp.xz.cn

There is a field titled “Sync with Square”. Options are apparently ‘yes’ and ‘no’ instead of 1 and 0. It doesn’t matter what is in the field, when importing a file, the sync with square field is left blank.

In WC, there is not way to bulk edit the products, so I’d have to manually go in and change 300+ products each time.

I can’t find a way to import the file and have it change the ‘sync with square’ to yes.

    Any ideas?

    Hi there!

Thank you for contacting Woo support!

In WC, there is not way to bulk edit the products, so I’d have to manually go in and change 300+ products each time.

This should be possible with the built-in import/export feature in WooCommerce 🙂

I can’t find a way to import the file and have it change the ‘sync with square’ to yes.

Before actioning the below, I’d recommend taking a full store and database backup.

Here’s what you’ll need to do for the export:

    • Navigate to Products in your dashboard.
    • Click the Export button at the top of the product list.
    • Check the Yes, export all custom meta checkbox.
    • Click Generate CSV.
    • This will provide you with the format and a list of your existing products.

At this point, the downloaded CSV can be edited:

    • You’re looking for a column named Sync with Square as you’ve mentioned.
    • The values will need to be yes or no. I’d recommend testing with one product initially.
    • Re-export the file as a CSV.

    Now for the import:

    • Navigate to Products in your dashboard.
    • Click the Import button at the top of the product list.
    • Check the  Existing products that match by ID or SKU will be updated. Products that do not exist will be skipped. checkbox if you’re only editing exiting products, rather than adding new ones.
    • Click the Continue button and follow the steps.
    • Check that the Sync with Square checkbox has been updated.

You can also read more about this process here:

Could you try the above and let us know if you experience any issues with this process, please?

We’ll then be able to have another look at this for you. Thank you! 🙂

Thanks, this doesn’t help. I am not exporting products from woo and then re-importing like you suggest. I am creating products in the excel and importing.

And, I found the issue, and it is something woo would need to fix.

When a product is created, it does not allow for the ‘sync to square’ to be active. The product has to be created first, then you can update the product to sync with square.

My work-around is to import new products from my excel. Immediately after importing the new products, import the same excel and update the products. The updating makes it so the ‘sync with square’ is now set to ‘yes’

Woo needs to fix it so ‘sync with square’ can be enabled when a new product is created.

    Hi,

I understand you would like to create new products, and to set the field Sync with Square to yes by default.

I followed the steps provided by Rich, and it is working for me on my end, first, I exported my old products into a CSV file, that way I can get a template for the new products.

Once I have the file, I created a new product following the same template, I added yes to the Sync with Square field, the result is a new product was created as expected, and the field sync with Square is set to yes.

If this process is not working for you, can you switch the site theme to Storefront temporarily, and then disable all plugins except WooCommerce and Square? Check again to see if the issue persists, if it does not, it means a conflict was affecting the site, and you can then switch back your theme to the original one, and then reactivate the rest of the plugins (checking one by one gradually), until you find the cause of the issue. More info is on our documentation: https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know if there are any questions.

    Yours did not work.

If you create a product manually within wordpress, the option to sync with square is NOT available at the time of creation. That is why when importing an excel file to create new products with the option ‘sync with square’ fails, the new products are created but the ‘sync with square’ option is not set to yes.

WOW. Please close this thread I don’t need any more “answers” from y’all.

    Resolution right now is:

Import new products and then immediately re-import to update products.

    Hi @tmax021

    Yours did not work.

If you create a product manually within wordpress, the option to sync with square is NOT available at the time of creation.

I replicated the scenario on my personal site running on the default Storefront theme, however, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end. When creating a new product under Products > Add New, I am already seeing the Sync with Square checkbox as you can see below.

To enable the Sync with Square checkbox, make sure to add value to the SKU field under Inventory

Then, you will see the option enabled:

Please note that this option is not visible by default. You need to set the Sync Settings first under WooCommerce > Settings > Square.

Can you please give it a try first and see if this works?
