I’m getting a Syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in line 42 of som-woocommerce-download-now.php when trying to activate the plugin.

What version of WordPress and this plugin are you using?

On a current install of WP that error never shows.

    I’m running
    WordPress version 4.7.2
    Woocommerce version 2.6.14
and Download Now – WooCommerce version 2.3.4

I’ll first try a clean install first and see if the error still occurs…

OK mate no probs. Unless there’s a plugin(s) you can think of that might affect that function? Security plugin for example?

This is the function I’m using:

It could be the folder wasn’t created in the install or isn’t writable. But it’s kind of needed by WordPress if you expect to upload anything, images and such.

After clean install with only woocommerce installed and Download Now issue still occurs.
    No other plugins are installed.

I just send you a mail.

I checked the unix rights for the uploads folder. It is set to 755

    Geez, this is getting repetitive…

@rwebster85 I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.
