syntax highlighter breaks saving in visual composer

for some reason, the plugin seems to stop any changes made with visual composer.

heres what i do:
i edit any content in the visual composer backend editor, whether it be editing some text or adding a new section etc. if i switch to tinymce or simply hit the publish button, my changes arent saved.

as soon as i uninstall your plugin, it works fine again.

could this be fixed please?

edit: i just tested it with king composer and the same thing happens.
