Is there a way to keep the last tab active so that when a uses clicks the back button, they will arrive where they left off?

I am using Tabbed Content to display an assortment of items which are links to more info. When a user browses through and clicks on one of the items, they get taken to another page with more info. When they click back to continue browsing, they find themselves on the default open tab rather than where they left off.

Perhaps making it so when you click on a tab it is a tab anchor?

I hope you can understand what I mean. You may want to check out my page to see.

    Hi @skahle,

We already have tab anchors for linking to a tab from another page.

You can add anchors and see if that works for you.

But tab anchors to be saved in the history so pressing the “Back” button would lead to opening the tab that was last opened by the user before navigating to another page – I am not sure if we will be able to implement that right now.

    Kind regards.

    Thank you for your response.

However, I know you have a tabs anchor feature and I use it in my menu (see “Home Plans” drop down in my menu)

What I mean is, the tabs themselves to be a link to the tab anchor, so when you click a tab it goes to ww.website/page#tab anchor.

I looked around and found that WP Tabs does this. Take a look at the example on their page: https://wptabs.com/#tab-1742

Scroll down a ways to see the example. Now click on the tabs and look at the url. It changes every time you click a tab. If you click to another page and then back again, you will be at the last tab because of the anchor in the url

Without this, my users get confused or frustrated. I don’t want to have to switch to WP Tabs. but I need my website to work better

We will see if we can implement it.

OK, but I can’t hold my breath. I need to go another route.
