    Hello,

I performed a backup restore of my staging site using Vaultpress and while everything else was restored fine, it seems I lost the table I had created using Tablepress.

    Instead it now says:
[ERROR] THE TABLE DATA IS CORRUPTED! DO NOT EDIT THIS TABLE NOW!
Instead, please ask for support at http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/tablepress

Any idea what could have caused this, and how it could be fixed? It’s the first time I perform a backup with Vaultpress, and this was the only table I had created with Tablepress, so I don’t know if this is a one-off or permanent problem.

    Thanks,
    Eva

    Hi Eva,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble! This obviously should not happen.

I don’t have experience with VaultPress, so I’m not sure where the problem comes from. Therefore, if possible, I’d like to directly investigate this on your site and run some tests. Could you maybe contact me via email (the address is in the main plugin file tablepress.php)?

    Thanks,
    Tobias

    Hi,

for everybody following this thread: After working with Eva directly, we found that this seems to be caused by something interfering with the saving of the internal TablePress data. Presumably, this was VaultPress during the restore process of the backup.
For some reason, all strings that describe a line break in JSON (“\n”) where transformed to actual line breaks. Due to that, the JSON could no longer be decoded and appeared to be corrupted.

    Regards,
    Tobias
