Table is cached server-side for good, can’t refresh data

    ​Hello,

    I created an editable table (3rd option if creating a new table) and the Excel file doesn’t refresh at all. I set the table not to be editable on the frontend.

    Even if I replace the file with a new one (same name) still the old table is shown. It’s not browser caching, because on a device that has never loaded this page ever still loads excel data I created the wpdatatable with. Also if I delete the file from the ftp then on the frontend I briefly see an error that says the file doesn’t exist and then a second later the original excel loads again. What’s wrong here?

    Hello there.

    Creating a table by importing an external data source (Excel file) is available only in the full version of the plugin, so we’ll have to ask you to open a ticket on our support platform. If your support expired, please open a pre-purchase ticket there.

    In short, you’re importing an Excel file, which means the plugin is reading the data source and creating a manual table from that source. That manual table has nothing else to do with the Excel file it was created from, and whatever changes you make in the table will not be seen in the Excel file, and vice versa.

    If you want to have a table which will show the data from an existing data source, and be linked to it, you need to create a table using the first option, but then when you want to update the information, you need to modify the excel file stored in ../wp-content/uploads/YEAR/MONTH, not the actual file you uploaded when you created the table in wpDataTables.
