    Hey Tobias,

I have a question…. I am posting items on tables named by the year, and I have a lot of them, two pages so far. so I don’t want to have to ‘search/scroll’ for the current year/table I’m adding stuff to. Coming from simple html I thought I would just rename the last year/ Table ID # to archive it down the line and use the current ID #2 listed at the top for the new/current year. But I get a warning: Do you really want to change the Table ID? All Shortcodes for this table in your pages and posts will have to be adjusted!

So what would be the best way to keep current year tables at the top of my table list for fast editing, while archiving past years tables, I won’t be working on?

Also, is there a fast way to clone a table?

    Thanks bunches,

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The renaming of the ID is actually the best option. And don’t be afraid of the warning. It’s just a reminder that you’ll have to also adjust the table ID in Shortcode on every page where you are showing that table.

    Tobias

Super, as only the one table per one page, my links link to the page 🙂 Love it. No blog either.

Also, asking my last question in a different way:
If I copy a table does it copy the Extensions (reverse order) I used in the original table?
I like the way I’ve set my tables up, and was looking for a short cut in passing things on to this years tables, this is why I ask.

    Thank you ~ again

    Hi,

copying a table (in the admin area of TablePress) only copies the data. If you want the Extensions to also apply to this table, you’ll just have to copy the “old” Shortcode’s parameters to the new one as well.
