Table plugin that allows visitors to update

    Hi All,

    I hope you’re having a great start to the new year.

    I wonder if someone could point in the direction of a WP table plugin that allows visitors of the site to directly update the table shown on the front end.

    I’m currently using Tablepress which is great but from what I can see it doesn’t contain functionality to allow readers/ visitors to update tables.

    What type of content would you anticipate anyone with open access to such might add?

    Hi,

    as the author of TablePress, I’m not aware of an easily usable functionality for things like this 🙁 You are correct, this is not possible with TablePress.

    You could maybe check out approaches with forms plugins that then add data to a database table that you then display again on the page.

    Thank you for your replies.

    To answer Pioneer’s question, the idea was to allow users to add non-sensitive data to a table created by TablePress and displayed on the frontend. Essentially I want the site to be autonomous where I get them started with a table and they add their own row’s.

    Tobias, firstly, thank you for a great plugin which is pretty easy to use, does what I want it to do. I knew the additionally functionality/ idea was probably not offered trivially by plugins currently in production. Possibly introduced in TablePress v1.8 😉.

    Hi,

    this would definitely be a good feature, and there are many use cases. However, implementing this properly, with security, privacy, etc. in mind is very difficult, which is why I don’t have plans to add such a feature to TablePress. Sorry.
