Table Press major problem

    Hi Tobias,

    just done your update to Tablepress.

    Table press is disabled now, no tables tab shows in my desktop control panel. It says i need a newer version of worpress but this is a one week old install of Worpress 4, and appears to be up to date.
    THE tables are now disabled in the website , YIKES!

    Message as follows

    Attention: The installed version of WordPress is too old for the TablePress plugin! TablePress requires an up-to-date version! Please update your WordPress installation!

    I am using the responsive Tisson Theme

    Install information below

    Last Updated: 9 hours ago
    Requires WordPress Version: 4.0 or higher

    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    My assumption here is (if you really are on WordPress 4.0), that something (another plugin or your theme) is hiding the WordPress version, so that TablePress can not properly check it.

    Could you therefore please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like TwentyFourteen?

    If that does not help, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    I am having the same problem, tablepress worked fine yesterday, but now today I am getting the same error message. I am using WordPress 4.0 and betheme responsive theme. No new plugins have been added or removed or updated, I tried your ideas above and still no joy.
    I have added you as a new user so that you might be able to have a look.

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    You are indeed affected by the same problem here. Your theme (also from the Muffin Group) contains a bug that messes up the WordPress version number. For technical details, please see https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/cant-access-tablepress-all-tables-page?replies=13#post-6203019

    I fixed this on your site now by installing an updated version of TablePress, that contains some hardening against this bug in your theme. You can use TablePress again now 🙂

    Hi Tobis,

    I am using WP 4.0 version.
    installed Table press and Easy tables but for table press i am asked to update WP and Easy Table i am not getting the option to use it.

    My WP version is 4.0…

    I dont have an idea how to resolve this..
    Can you please look in to it

    I will just add my 10 cents worth to this thread. You need all plugins and WordPress to be on the current versions. I had one of my sites hacked with Trojans because some of the plugins were older. The result is the site is completely ruined and I had to take it down. Even the not active theme had the malware injected into them.
