As it says, Tablepress breaks when using Glossary for WordPress. It was working fine up until I added the word ‘çiy’, but then doing so caused the last row to be moved over as shown on the webpage, and other odd happenings throughout further down.

I also have QuickLaTex installed and it is rendering that “eo” with circumflex, but it was also working fine before adding the ‘çiy’ word.

Using chrome on Windows 10. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

How does this glossary plugin work? Are you inserting some kind of Shortcode into table cells?

Or is it recognizing certain words in the page content automatically and then replacing those with a modified version that has that tooltip?

From what I can see so far, this is a bug in the glossary plugin. It seems to be replacing too aggressively.

    Regards,
    Tobias

It is sitewide; it’s possible to turn global off and then insert a shortcode for each page (not for each word), but for my purposes I need to display those words, since they’re foreign and for learning. Sorry, I’m a complete noob at this. I appreciate your time.

Hey Tobias, so as not to take up your time: I switched to another glossary (CM Tooltip) and the problem is gone. Thanks for your answer.

    Hi,

thanks for the clarification. Just as I thought, this means that they are doing search/replace, but too aggressively, probably using a regular expression. With that, they are then breaking the HTML code of the table. This would have to be fixed by the codeat team.

But yes, switching to a different plugin also works of course 🙂 Good to hear that the alternative works now!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
