Tablepress vs Best Search Replace (SSL issue)

Hi there,
In order to apply SSL protocol, we downloaded Best Search Replace plugin. It replaces everything you need to on your database, so we replaced http://oursite with https://oursite. It replaced everything except for the content on tablepress’ tables.

Now we are using another plugin, http / https removal or something, but it transforms URLs into relative, and we want them to be absolute.

Here’s a post with a table: https://comprarchinobien.com/camaras-deportivas-baratas/ yet you will see it correct now (we’ve got that https/https replace activated, and that do works with tablepress).

Any suggestion?

PS. We would like to use Best Search Replace plugin also to remove all the target=_blank instructions, since they are now banned after the last WordPress update :S

Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not sure that I understand everything, but this is probably related to the internal data format that TablePress uses. That’s JSON format, and there, all " and / are escaped with an extra backslash \.
So, in the search/replace plugin, you have to search for
```
http:\/\/oursite
```
and replace it with
```
https:\/\/oursite
```
To replace the target="_blank", you have to search for
```
target=\"_blank\"
```

….and it didn’t work 🙁
using http:\/\/ did not change a single thing. Any other suggestion?

Hi,
yes, I’ve exactly same problem. After migration tablepress links do not work correctly. I tried it as described but it does not change anything. Even if I
migrate for test reasans the domain to exactly the same domain like:
http://mydomain to http://mydomain. And during the process I search to http:\/\/mydomain and replace to http:\/\/mydomain.
Does not work.

Hi,

hhm, that’s strange. Can you maybe check how the links look like in their raw format, using e.g. PHPMyAdmin to take a direct look at the mySQL database? The relevant entries are in the wp_posts database table, with a post_type value of tablepress_table.

Seems to me that \ is correct in use, but the link gets a 404 error.

I forgot to say: Do not try by calling https://hloch.de/suedticker …
At the moment original installation is active where all works fine.

HI,

are you sure that’s the original code? This now looks like copy/paste from here. The URLs are all missing, which should not be the case in the database.

Hi,

ok, thanks! From what I can see, the table contains links to images, like https://hloch.de/suedticker/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/03/smartblock-75s_geschlossen_001-1.jpg
This link is working fine for me, so I’m not sure what exactly the problem is? Can you clarify that?

Hi,

I just tried https://hloch.de/suedticker/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/03/20160330-KW-Energie-präsentiert-den-brandneuen-smartblock-75s.docx and that works for me as well. The browser offers this file for download.
