Hello @adamdunnage, i have the same base problem. I use Google site kit plugin, and my HEAD gtm tag is very low in the code. But i cannot do nothing to change it. Google site kit doesn’t allow us to fix this. So i always have this information “Tag not placed correctly”. Concerning conversions, for now they are ok.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @ricardoamaro and thanks for opening the support topic. When checking your website source code I can see that Site Kit is placing the expected Tag Manager code and everything looks right with it. I don’t see any issues there.

Next, when checking your website in the Google Tag Assistant, I can also see that all of your tags including your GTM tag are firing.

It’s not uncommon to see such warnings if checking for tag related issues, as inline styling, third party plugin additions and other features can result in the Site Kit snippet placed further down on some URLs.

If you want additional confirmation that there is no issue with the URLs provided in that report, you can also reach out to the product experts at the Tag Manager Help Center for this.

To summarise, I don’t see an issue on the Site Kit side of things and I can see the code is placed by Site Kit and the tags are firing. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Hello @adamdunnage thank you for replying. Yes, all tags are being triggered but i always have the information in “tag quality” – Tag not placed correctly. And it’s true that in the html code the google site kit snippet is very far from the head section. Google advises to insert higher as possible in after Head. So i don’t understand why a plugin made by google doesn’t follow this

@ricardoamaro Site Kit places the code for each service where recommended by that service. As mentioned above, some third party plugin additions and other features can result in the Site Kit snippet placed further down on some URLs.

It has been seen previously that other plugins can sometimes alter Site Kit placed code or alter where it is placed on a site. I’d be happy to check your setup to see if any of your plugins stand out as potential conflicts or feel free to check this yourself by temporarily disabling plugins and checking your Site Kit code placement each time.

If you’d like me to take a look, please can I ask that you share your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. Let me know if you have any questions on the above.
