Tagembed Widget causes problems with automatic plugin updates

    All the automatic plugin updates are stuck in a constant “rolling donut” loop, which seems to be caused by the tagembed plugin. The problem persists regardless of whether some/all auto-updates are enabled or disabled. However, the problem stops as soon as I deactivate the tagembed widget plugin. I’ve tried deactivating the others, but only the tagembed widget has any effect.
    Any suggestions on how I can continue using this plugin (which I quite like) without interfering with the auto-update function?
