• Hi
    I am developing a service based website and would like to find out how to use the Nextgen plugin to perform the following task;

    I have got a list of images in a gallery and would like to categorize those using tags/categories such that if I click on each category, all related images will be displayed within the page where the gallery is placed. I am able to do this at the moment using tags but the text on the page disappears and leaves only the related images.

    I have had a look on the thread but have not been unable to find an answer to this question. Could someone kindly assist me with this please.
    Many thanks

    @engrsteve007 – This may be involved but could be possible using a Custom template and some specific settings … at least how I am understanding what you are looking for.

    To my understanding you are looking to use the NextGEN Basic TagCloud display to open a gallery after clicking on a specific tag but also still have the Tags displayed on the same gallery page?

    If that is the case, this is one approach:
    * Create a custom template that essentially merges the Basic Thumbnails Gallery and the Basic TagCloud displays.
    * Under Gallery > Gallery Settings … choose this custom template as the default for Basic Thumbnails.

    This page may help with additional information about custom templates for NextGEN Gallery: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/templates/

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais

    Many thanks for your prompt reply. Also sorry i forgot to add that i am a newbie to web design and development so apologies in advance for my ignorance/naivety.

    Just to explain bit further, what i am trying to do is to arrange all the images on my site in the same way as either of the 2 websites below. This would enable my users to quickly click on the category that they are interested in and view only images related to that category?

    Is this possible with Nextgen (if yes, could you kindly let me know how)? If it’s not, is there any way i can do this using a Nextgen extension?

    Many thanks in advance for your response

    Regards
    Stephen
