We have an issue logged for allowing spans in the currency symbol – https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-admin/issues/2893 . You can follow development there.

Its been 2 months already and I’ve been following the tread you mentioned but there doens’t seem to be any movement on resolving the issue.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue myself?
