Hi, you need to create a new page for posts if you dont want them to appear on the front page.
Go to Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays > Static Page.
You then need to select a new “Posts page:”
I did that–I made a new page called blog. Now I have three pages: HOME, (other), and BLOG all displaying my most recent posts?
How do I get rid of the HOME tab, I did not add it as a page, it is always there and not listed under my pages that I can edit?
Did you select “A static page” in the reading settings?
I cant find the theme you are using, the theme might be forcing a “Home page” tab.
All of this theme’s files are located in /themes/tandil.
Yes, I did select “A Static Page” in the readings settings. Even if the theme is forcing a “Home Page” tab I should still be able to change the front display to my desired static page right?
Here is my site: http://natesyouthtips.com
You’ll see that my Home/Blog/Inside The Youth Worker/ tabs all have my posts going to them??
OK, I can see your website, and its definitely coming up with blog posts as the home page.
I downloaded the theme, installed it, and after these settings
Reading Settings
my home page now looks like this
Tandil Homepage
Is that not working for you?
I just did as you did…now check out my page. The Home/Blog/About tabs all have my current posts?
Is there some other feature or setting I have turned on that is locking everything or messing it up?
I loaded a different theme and the same thing is happening?
Hi, well if you loaded a different theme, and its still happening, then there might be something wrong with your WordPress database. My apologies, I dont have any idea how to figure out whats wrong, my only suggestion is that you copy the contents, delete those static pages and try again. 🙁
