Is there an option in the free version to make the shipping amount taxable? We need to have California sales tax added on the shipping amount.

Hi,

Yes, it is also possible in free version. You may set in WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones > “Zone name” > Flexible Shipping, here: https://wpdesk.me/ag/20ciw.png.
