Feature of “Restrict categories, tags, or even custom taxonomy terms!” does not happen. Content is completely secure at access level but visibility of the taxonomy is not influenced by the group and user set up done. If this something you are interested to look into, will share further details.
Im in the process of setting up the site so there is no live IP to share. But i could share screengrabs if you would like to look into this one.
