• Is there a plugin/hack that displays all the templates/skins you have added? And I dont mean ones for visitors to choose, but I mean in your admin panel. Currently when I go into admin then template, all I see is where to edit the index.php and then I can choose various other files to edit if I wish. However, I dont see anywhere listed what current templates/skins are available with the install. I guess that means just the defualt, but then again, I havent been able to even find out exactly what files I need to edit to make changes to the template. I am hoping I dont have to mess with any of these php files too much as it all looks Greek to me. Is the only file I need to change just the css file?

Sorry for all the questions. I have been using the search button as much as I can

  • That is there in 1.5, but it is not present in 1.2.x

To change what the blog looks like, all you really need to alter is the css:

(my subtle example above 🙂 )

If, from a default install of 1.2.x you want to alter how things are laid out too, yes you probably will need to change index.php, but it’s not that scary and we are here to help.

In 1.5, themes are around so you upload a set of files and bingo – job done. Again though, you will need to edit.

Instead of starting from scratch with what looks like a job from hell, use an existing template / css / style / call_it_whatever and adjust it slowly to be how you want.
    If possible, create a testblog.

Post here when things go wierd, and above all expect it to go wierd as you create things. It will happen, so anticipate that and relax a touch 🙂

    Thanks so much!

I am so glad I choose WP over TextPattern and MT. Everyone here has been extremely helpful and kind about it

Will try getting 1.5 to work again though.. for some reason I keep getting a “get header error” Will search for the fix here.

    Thanks for the reply
