Hi Dom,
I check in periodically and today is one such day!
The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO do indeed support template overrides, pretty much the same principals apply:

Hi Barry great to hear that you check periodically.
I will look at themers guide it mentioned conditional formatting…but I not sure it can do what your plugin was doing.:(
the template override I was referring to was:
[event_embed category=”gala” limit=”1″ template=”shortcode-embed-list-gala”]
[event_embed event=”3033″ template=”shortcode-embed-list-past”]
On a page particular page I embeded both a future event and several past events using different templates (as the information and format needed to be displayed differently).
On different page I used another template and added the ability to show quantity of tickets remaining and the ability to purchase tickets. after the events I then switched to a template that showed the event images (logos). this second set of events were hidden from calendar view (as all occurred same time and date but different locations) but displayed using the shortcode depending on region events occurred
Do you think Event Calendar will incorporate such a flexible feature like your event-embed shortcode?
thanks
dom

Hey Dom,
Great to hear that flexibility has proven useful.
I believe plans are afoot to add more shortcodes to The Events Calendar (or its premium plugins) but I can’t speak to specifics like whether they will have a template attribute; dropping them a note in the official forums for that plugin or on their UserVoice page is one way to make sure it gets on the radar, though.
