Hi @exyst,
We’re really sorry to hear about your disappointment with the recent updates. We know how frustrating it can be when a tool you’ve relied on changes in a way that doesn’t meet your expectations.
We’d genuinely like to understand what specifically isn’t working for you or what you’d like to see improved. Your feedback means a lot and can help us make BackWPUp better.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I used almost all features of the original plugin so I can’t list all of them that I am missing. I had installed BackWPup on many sites.
Example: I could specifically select all the data and components in WordPress I wanted to back up — in one panel. This is still somehow possible but it is scattered across several very small sub-sub-panels. Tedious.
Example: it was possible to define multiple backup jobs with different configurations, not only one (maybe you re-introduced this recently).

Hi @exyst,
Thank you for sharing this detailed follow-up. I really appreciate it.
I completely understand how adapting to a new layout can feel tedious at first, especially when you are used to the old flow.
For example, on the inclusion and exclusion settings, I have put together a quick comparison screencast for you: https://we.tl/t-hbv5Ztqwfu.
If you take a look, the old version required few clicks and quite a bit of scrolling. In the new layout, everything is grouped in one place with the idea of reducing clicks and simplifying the overview.
We acknowledge that changes may not always feel intuitive immediately, and we have taken note of your feedback internally. Our main goal is to simplify backup management while making sure everything works reliably, so your input really helps.
And yes, you can now create multiple backups with different configurations again. If you have not tried the latest version yet, I would invite you to give it a shot. If anything feels off or you have suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us directly anytime. We would be happy to help or take notes for future improvements.
Best Regards,
