“test” Bog in statistics
-
Good morning,
things seem working fine so far, thanks a lot.
One question which came to my mind is the bot with the nick “test” –
is this just a dummy, does this one work for your plugin or is it a real bot?I never came across with this bot anywhere else.
Regards
OliverPS If thing go straigt, I will be helping with the german translation

Hi Oliver,
Yes, test it is a real bot.
Looks like test bot come from this site:
http://www.website-datenbank.de/Thanks in advance for help me with German translation,
Cheers,
BillThanks fot the info! Be careful with blocking this “bot”. I am using WP Fastest Cache with an automatic crawling of my pages to load the cache. I recognized that this automatic upload of pages did not work for some days whereas in parallel I had thousands of approaches of this bot. Everything was fine again after I disabled the test bot in your plugin.
I can’t finally verify it but it looks like this plugin uses this crawler.

Hi Oliver,
Thanks for your usefull feedback.
I think use the name of bot test is not a good idea. If you have chance, please, give this suggestion to cache plugin’s developer.
Cheers,
BillHi,
Just wanted to update this issue as i contacted the developer of WP Fastest Cache. He said that his bot for preloading is NOT called “test”.
However, i experienced the same issue as “hadamar0815” reported. When “test” is enabled in the bot table preloading of cache stops.
So perhaps “test” is interfering with the chron job or something? either way, “test” should be disabled if you have WP Fastest Cache.
Hi,
What is the name of their bot? He told to you? Because if the name is mytest, for example, the string test can block mytest.
Then, i suggest to you deactivate the bot test
If you have more information about, please, let me know.
Anyway you can check the table and enable emails to receive more information. For details, please, take a look the start up guide of the version 3.3 the part with yellow background. (Dashboard => Stop Bad Bots).
Cheers,
Bill
He told me these were the names of the bots used:
WP Fastest Cache Preload Bot
WP Fastest Cache Preload iPhone Mobile BotSo this is the solution. It’s WP Fas
test
Cache …
Look like you are right, although i wouldn’t have thought this plugin would block words in the middle of a word, but obviously it does. Well pointed out.
Yes, just deactivate the bot “test” and it is fixed.
If you enable to receive emails, you will get more details about what is blocked.Yes, this fixes the issues and thanks to hadamar0815 for explaining why.
Just a quick question, if a a nickname has “bot” in it will this block anything that has “bot” in the name.
For example, in the table you have
Nickname – AhrefsBot
Name – Ahrefs BotAs the nickname has bot in it will this block anything with “bot” in it? Or is “AhrefsBot” treated as a single word and will match only “AhrefsBot”? Thanks
We put an explanation in our page add bad bot to table.
We said:
Example: SpiderBot (no case sensitive) Just a piece of the name is enough. For example, if you put “bot” will block all bots with the string bot at user agent name. Attention: In this case, you will block also google bot because their name is GoogleBot.
Yes, I did read that. But in the table you have added “AhrefsBot”. This has “bot” in it’s name, so why wouldn’t this block google bot?
No, don’t worry about.
Not worried, just trying to understand it as you said this
” if you put “bot” will block all bots with the string bot at user agent name. Attention: In this case, you will block also google bot because their name is GoogleBot.”
So was just curious why “AhrefsBot” doesn’t block google bot. I know it doesn’t, just trying to understand why considering what you said above?
Because AhrefsBot It’s not contained in GoogleBot.
