When attempting to get the plugin to work, there is no ‘test connection’ button. This makes it a bit hard to verify that things are working properly. Would you add the ability to test the connection without having to try to log in?

Can I filter within the LDAP search base using memberof? Such as:
memberof=CN=Coding,OU=Special Groups,OU=Domain Users,DC=mydomain,DC=local

We’ve got a testing suite on the roadmap, but it’s not super high priority:

Normally we test with one incognito window open testing logins, and another normal browser window logged in and adjusting Authorizer Settings. That link above also has further details on adding some logging to debug problems.

Re: filters, if you hook into authorizer_ldap_search_filter you can specify any custom filter you want (instead of the default of (|(uid=$username)(mail=$username)).

We also expect to add a custom search filter to the Authorizer Settings UI in the future (the filter will continue work).
