    Hi @ajeanluc,

Thank you so much for sharing the detailed screenshots, logs, and error traces. Welcome to the WooPayments forum. I can see how frustrating it must be not being able to enable test mode or save any changes due to the Save changes button being grayed out, even after trying with only WooCommerce and WooPayments active.

From the logs and console errors (especially the woocommerce_payments_payment_method_error and Cannot create item with duplicate id messages), it looks like there may be JavaScript issues or a deeper conflict causing the settings page to break.

Just to confirm, was test mode working previously and then stopped saving changes recently, perhaps after updating WooPayments, WooCommerce, or another plugin? That detail would help determine if this is a regression or something new introduced by an update.

In the meantime, please try the following:

    1. Switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Four temporarily.
    2. Keep only WooCommerce and WooPayments active.
    3. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → WooPayments and try checking Test Mode again to see if the Save button becomes active.

This will help confirm whether a theme conflict is contributing to the issue.

Let me know the result of that test, and we can dig deeper from there!

    Hi and thank you @lovingbro

It worked initially with my hestia theme when I began to sell 3 years ago. I haven’t checked yet to desactivate everything and switch to 24 but I will do it if it helps to diagnosticate. Till soon

Thanks for the update, Jean — that’s very helpful context.

Since WooPayments was working initially with the Hestia theme but is now showing issues saving settings, it’s possible that either a theme update or a recent change in WooPayments introduced a conflict.

When you get the chance, please go ahead and switch temporarily to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Four, with only WooCommerce and WooPayments active. Then try enabling Test Mode again to see if the Save Changes button becomes active.

This will help confirm whether the issue is theme-related.

Let us know what you find out!

    Hi Rahman,

I did what you said (desactivate everything except woocommerce and woopayments and switch to 24). It appears that it did not change anything. Of course as I had to put the site on maintenance mode because I changed the Theme for 24, I was unable to test an order, but on the woopayment setting page I could not save the change when I checked the test mode : the save button was grey and unactionable like before. Please let me know what do do now. Best
    Jean

    Hi @ajeanluc,

Thanks so much for testing that and reporting back!

Since the issue persists even with only WooCommerce and WooPayments active on the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, this rules out a theme or plugin conflict and suggests the problem may be caused by a deeper JavaScript issue within the WooPayments settings page itself.

To help us dig deeper, could you please try the following next:

    1. Check if there are any browser extensions (like ad blockers or privacy tools) that might interfere with JavaScript, try saving changes in an incognito window or a different browser as a test.
    2. Go to WooCommerce → Status → Logs, and in the dropdown select any logs that mention woocommerce-payments Or recent error logs, then copy/paste their contents here (or via a Gist).
    3. Share your WooCommerce System Status Report (WooCommerce → Status → Get system report → Copy for support), then paste it into https://pastebin.com or https://gist.github.com

This information will help us check for any server-side or configuration issues that could be blocking the settings from being saved.

Looking forward to helping you get this sorted!
