Test not working with variable product

    I’ve just setup a Woocommerce product test. Unfortunately, it does not work at all with a variable product. The product variations can’t be selected, and reviews are not visible:

    There’s a lot of other information not included in the test variant.

    I’ve just checked it in a test installation with a standard theme and no other plugins enabled. While the product variations work, there is some information missing:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for reporting the issue. I think I know what’s amiss, but it’ll take a while to address, because I’m not 100% sure on the best approach.

    Anyway, here’s what’s basically happening. When you create a product variant, Nelio A/B Testing creates a completely new product that starts as an exact copy of your current product. This new product is not visible in the Dashboard » Products screen and what not, because it’s supposed to be used within the scope of an A/B test… but other than that, it’s a fully-fledged product. When our plugin loads the alternative content, it simply replaces the original product with the variant, and so it also loads the alternative reviews (there are none) instead of the original reviews.

    We’ll look into it and keep you posted.

    Thanks for the prompt answer. I can imagine that this is quite a tricky one. In addition to that many plugins might have some effect on how a product is rendered. This won’t make your life easier. I’m not even sure whether a perfect solution is technically possible.
