text based current_page_item indicator

Hi, first post so hope it’s in the right place.

I want to style the current_page_item, however what I want is to have this ‘<<‘ preceding the current item. So my menu might look like this:

Item one
Item two
Current <<
Item three

I cannot think of a way this can be dome with css. Perhaps there is a way to apply the link_after attribute to only the current page item?

Help much apprecaited as I’ve spent hours searching with no luck.
