That sounds strange. To verify that there’s no interference e.g. from other plugins, can you please try this again on a free test site, created via https://tablepress.org/demo/#try ?
Also, please test if this happens with other browsers, and with all browser extensions deactivated. I have seen such browser add-ons (like “Language Tool” or AI writings assistants) that interfere with the table editing process.

Thank you so much. Providing the test site is a great way to quickly check where the problem lies. I hope other developers follow suit.
After typing worked on the test site, I tried a different browser and it worked – thank you for your quick, reassuring and effective help.

I was using Edge. I have the same extensions in both browsers. Only three active, happy to share what they are in a DM.
