Hi – I posted on the plugins Trac, but not sure its the right place. I have also got a bit more information since then.

I could not save text changes using the front-end editor, but could change pictures. I disabled Jetpack and it worked, i then re-enabled it but did not connect to WordPress.com and i could still edit text and save it. Connecting to WordPress.com then stopped text edits working (although I could still edit pictures)…

Website: http://www.globalsprawl.com, with twentytwelve child theme
Login details with editor capability – username: test; password: test

    WordPress Version: 3.8
    Plugin Version: 0.74
Other plugins (I have tested disabling all of them and it doesn’t have an impact): AG Custom Admin; BAW Login/Logout Menu; Civil Footnotes; Custom Login 2.0; Jetpack; Remove Dashboard Access.

Further, although this may be unrelated, edits made (just to images) do not appear to come up under the Revisions Log (although text edits do), and clicking through to an edit just closes the editor.

Ultimately, an absolutely amazing and empowering plugin though, so thanks!

So I assume you’re disconnected now? At least it works…
You don’t see image changes in you’re revision because it’s a featured image. Try it on the back-end and the same will happen. However, if you change add an image inline, it will create a new revision.

And clicking on a revision item closes the editor right now, yes. I still need to add a warning when the user tries to move away from the page.

Hi Janneke – yes – got it on the featured image. There is no change on the back end either.

I am currently connected to Jetpack, and it no text edits are working for me. I have tried with FF, Chrome an IE.

Oh, I see, you mean when you try to update. I thought you meant that you couldn’t edit the text inline.

Which Jetpack components do you have enabled? Would it be difficult for you to figure out which component is causing the problem?
Thanks a lot for reporting this!

    Hi,

    They are:

    – WordPress.com Stats
    – Notifications
    – Subscriptions
    – Carousel
    – Vault Press
    – Google+ Profile
    – Widget Visibility
    – Tiled Galleries
    – Custom CSS
    – Extra Sidebar Widgets

I deactivated them one by one, and it was “subscriptions” that seems to be causing the issue…

Okay, thanks for your help. I’ll test it on one of my sites to narrow it down further.

I’ve just tried it with Jetpack and the subscriptions component enabled, and it works… Are you sure this component is causing the problem?

Hi – yes, I have just had another go, and it does seem to be the issue.

If it helps I can send you the admin details for my site, if you send an email to the email at the top of the website.

Otherwise, I will settle for it being something very strange with my site and de-activate subscribe for now…

    Thanks again!

I just gave this a go on a test site and couldn’t duplicate it either.

Hmm… strange. I just tried again with WP 3.8.1, and its still happening. Janneke has the admin details to my site, but maybe its just something unique and wont happen elsewhere.

Just FYI, the plugin works really well with Role Scoper and Post Revision Display plugins.

I’ll take a look at your site later to figure it out.

@globalsprawl Are you still experiencing this problem? If so, I could take a look this weekend.

Hi Janneke – I think it must have been something strange with my site. Have a totally new site now, and it seems to be working fine. Very strange. Sorry for the hassle.

Great plugin, adding a huge amount to my website!!! Thanks!!!!
