Text slider with automatic columns
-
Hi all,
Complete WP newbie here. My site is still in its embryonic stages, but I do have a pretty clear idea of what I want it to look like – and I realize that I’m about to run headfirst into the limits of the wordpress themes I’ve found so far.
I want to have my posts as full width sections on top of each other (having all posts within a category on one page, so no clicking to fully open a post). Each post should have a featured full-width image, and underneath that, I want to have the post text. However, my texts range from just a few sentences, to enough to fill one or two A4 pages. I don’t want to break up the flow / visual balance of images to text by having massive fields of text, and I also realllly don’t like vertically scrolling text boxes within a vertical scrolling page.
I am looking for a plugin (preferably) or code (or theme, if this already exists!) to help me do the following on my website:
– shape my texts into columns of a certain height (say, 2/3 of the screen height);
– have a slider to load additional columns when the text is too long to fit in 2 of those columns of 2/3 of the screen height
– be responsive (on a full size monitor, I could have 2 or even 3 columns displayed side by side; on a phone held vertically, there’d be only 1 displayed at a time)
– preferably also allow for a comments field after the last column of text is displayedI’ve seen several plugins that can divide my content in a pre-set number of columns, but I want to have a pre-set height, and for the number of columns to be whatever the number is that it takes to fit my content into that height. Am I asking for crazy stuff, or is there a plugin, theme or piece of code out there that can do what I want?
Thanks in advance!
Bart
