Text Widgets view code editor

    Hello,

    since the Update to Version 4.8 text-widgets have the visual-editor and the actual text (source code) is only displayed in a second tab.
    The code however displayed in that text-tab is only translated from the visual tab and does no longer show hidden or non-displayed items (style=”display:none;”).
    Also some tags such as <br /> will not appear at all.
    Does anyone know how to change that back to a strict code based editor?

    Sigh. Yup. That’s how Text widgets work now. I don’t know if there’s a plugin yet to make it behave the previous way, but the current plan is to introduce a dedicated code widget in 4.8.1, some time in the not too distant future.
