Hi Team,

From last two days our editor is crashed and we are not able to create stories. could you please find out whats the excat reason for this.

for your ref.. we have change our website dns and after that this issue happend.

entire webstories is working fine and we can see that our old stories in website url. but only issue is with editor.

this is we are getting error.

Please help us gather a few details:
- Do you recall the last action you took before this error appeared?
- Does it still happen with all other plugins disabled and when using an incognito window?
- Could you please share a screen recording of your experience using a service such as Loom or Recordit then share the URL here?
- If you could provide what information you can from your Site Health info privately through this form that would be great.

Hi Luckyna San,

Thanks for the response on my query.
1. yes, we have tested all the issues with all plugins enabled and disabled, results are the same. no change in this error.
2. We have set up the same issue with our subdomain where we find out that this error never comes and it’s working fine on our subdomain.

3. We have also rolled back our database to a subdomain and vice versa to replicate this issue but we got to know that it happens only on the main domain, not in a subdomain. That’s strange why it’s happening only on the main domain.

4. Today, 1 hour back we updated our web stories plugin and hope this will fix the issue but no luck it remains the same issue.

5. Two days back, we moved our entire CDN and DNS from Cloudflare to BunnyCDN and after that, this issue started on the main domain. if it’s the issue with the main domain then how come it’s working on the subdomain because both DNS and CDN are working on BunnyCDN. That’s an investigation question.

Please check from your end, why its happning like this.

I saw one more user in the queries section he also has the same issue and he also reported the same.

@chandanarora688 Thank you for the details. Can you please list the steps you took in the editor before it crashed (e.g. add image, apply filter, apply animation)? A screen recording of how to reproduce the issue would be helpful.

We would love to be able to assist you with this issue, but for that we need additional information like your Site Health information or a screen recording, like we have asked above.

With that said, since you did a big website migration, that is most likely the reason for this issue.

One big problem I see with your site is that the story_data field in the REST API is empty for all your stories. Example: https://publictv.in/wp-json/web-stories/v1/web-story?_fields=story_data

Most likely this is because the post_content_filtered field of your stories is empty or malformed. So check your wp_posts table in the database to see whether that is the case. If so, you’ll need to restore a backup.

Thanks for the update. we have backup the stories back to our wp_posts table and now we can see all stories which we have created last week in our homepage tab that link also working fine, but the editor still shows this error. its shows a type error in this. please check this issue.

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'hasClass')

wp-auth-check.min.js is a file from WordPress, not our plugin. Errors with that script would need to be reported on WordPress Core Trac.

As for the other actual error, TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘elements’), it’s difficult to say what is the root cause now that you’ve restored the post_content_filtered data.

It’s always difficult to help debug misconfigurations like this from the outside, and since we’re not allowed to have admin access to sites (forums policy) and it works for your other site, our hands seem pretty much tied here 🙁

is there any way where we can do reset all the stuff and start from scratch.

You could try setting up a new site to see if this error still happens. You could also try toggling the “Plugin uninstall” checkbox on the settings page and then completely uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it (make a backup first!) to reset it. Though I would not necessarily recommend this on a live site.
