Hi @nesdam1981,
I’m very sorry to hear that your experience with newer versions of the plugin has changed in a disappointing way. Of course, we do appreciate you taking the time to share these thoughts with us.
We’d really like to understand what specifically felt confusing in newer versions of the plugin, as your feedback will definitely help us improve the plugin for all users.
While it’s true that we’ve expanded the plugin significantly with a range of security features, and that a noteworthy amount of them are part of the Pro version; the core functionality of Really Simple SSL that you relied on in the past is still present in this free plugin.
The free plugin still enforces SSL on your WordPress site, and these days it even includes a built-in Let’s Encrypt certificate generator (for situations when your site doesn’t yet have an SSL certificate yet). Features like Basic WordPress Hardening and even Two-Factor Authentication via email are also included in the free plugin.
We’d love to hear more about what didn’t work for you, or what you found confusing in newer versions of the plugin. This feedback is very valuable to us, as it allows us to make the plugin more intuitive for everyone.
Kind regards, Jarno
