The image does not update

    Hi,

    Great plugin and very convenient. However I got trouble with since a while. When I choose to replace a media (which is only images), I can see the new image updated from the MEDIA tab of the dashboard, but it doesn’t update any image displayed on the site.
    I use the gallery plugin and the jetpack tiled galleries to display my photos.
    I also tried to manually to delete the image then re-upload it but even this way, I get the old version displayed.
    This may not come from your plugin though.

    Any idea of what causes this?

    The plugin will only replace the embeds of the original size images, not resized images.

    Here’s the issue: The image that you are using to replace the original must be the same size (width by height) as the original. WordPress processes images for you, adding the default thumbnail, medium, and full settings, plus any other custom sizes defined in your theme, based on the size of the original.

    The image that is no longer appearing in your page is a version of the original that does not exist anymore after you replaced it.

    image.jpg (original image is 500 x 900)

    image used in theme, say your thumbnail uncropped, is called: image-250×450.jpg

    image.jpg (replaced image, 500 x 940)

    original thumbnail no longer exists. new comparable image is now called image-250×470.jpg

    Exactly what Joe Banks said. I think that WordPress’ handling of thumbnails is stupid, but there’s not much I can do about it.
